PixAround Panoramic Photo Software
At the March meeting Ray Mills made us aware of a neat software program called PixAround, now in Beta test, which will "stitch" together several photos taken in panoramic sequence. He said that using a digital camera a fellow-worker took several photographs in a 360 degree sweep in an office and the software combined them into one panoramic view, automatically adjusting the edges of furniture and
other objects until they merged into one coherent image. There is a limit to how many images can be handled but it is well within a reasonable number. Digital camera phreaks should check it out at http://www.pixaround.com. A search for "image stitching" brought up several similar programs priced from $25 to $50, but this one's free. One reviewer says: "A great free program for the beginner."
