Recovering a Deleted E-Mail Message
by Bob Thomson, Tacoma Open Group for Microcomputers
This seems so trivial. I'm almost embarassed to tell you about it. Sometimes I will inadvertently click on the Delete icon while reading my e-mail and the highlighted message is gone! Gone, I tell you! Usually it is no big deal. The message was innocuous or did not require my further attention. But what if the message content was important? How do I get it back? I didn't know how to do it until I accidentally deleted an important message the other day, and decided to pursue the solution.
In the left hand panel, Internet Explorer displays among its choices Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items,.... Clicking on Deleted Items showed the newly-deleted file listed in the main panel. Clicking on the message title yielded a drop-down menu with the choice Save as... Clicking this gave me the normal e-mail choices, Inbox, Outbox, ..., etc. Clicking on Inbox put the deleted file back whereit was before I deleted it.
