Library News

The October 2001 library disk contains three programs recommended during the presentation System Resource Leakage Prevention at the October 2001 meeting. In addition the disk includes two images of the American eagle with a tear in its eye, one in motion, with the World Trade Center in the background. Also included is the GIF file of the waving American flag shown on our website. Short .htm files are included to display eagle and flag files in motion.
The three utility files for use in reducing or eliminating System Resource Leaks are:

  • Cacheman 5.0 - (Freeware if you can't afford the $10 fee) a performance enhancement and memory recovery utility.
  • RAMpage 1.6 - Freeware - a small Windows utility displays the amount of available memory in an icon in the System Tray. It can also free memory in a number of configurable ways.
  • WMalign 1.0 - Windows Magazine Freeware - WMAlign.bat is a batch file for Windows 98 that can be used to align program executable files so that they launch faster. It is intended for experienced users only.

    Bonus

  • Eagletears.jpg, eagle01.gif and eagltear.htm - As a special tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001 bombing of the World Trade Center, we have included two files of the American eagle with a tear in its eye.
  • Flagwave.gif and flagwave.htm - is the waving flag displayed on the toggle.org website
