Gimblett Has TOG Feb Meeting in Stitches
TOG member Sandee Gimblett proved that she knows
her stuff when in comes to quilting and embroidery. Not only that, she
knows how to use her computer to interface with her card-programmed
Pfaff sewing machine, as well as how to download patterns from the
Internet. Instructions stored on a memory card are then inserted into
the sewing machine and patterns sewn. With an impressive display of her
sewing talents she showed examples of her work as well as her "library"
of stitch patterns, on cloth swatches, to which she refers daily as she
pursues her hobby. Very impressive and informative Sandee! Good
presentation!

Are You a Shrinking Violet?
A presentation to another user group is described
in the General Interest Section, on page 9, where a medical doctor
illustrated how he used a computer. He illustrated his talk using only a
Palm Pilot, to highlight medical problems and learn about medical
conditions, as well as to identify some medical web sites. A brief
synopsis of his presentation is included here, on page 6, to inspire
those of you who have hidden talents to consider sharing your expertise
or speciality with us at a future meeting--to bring your hidden talents
out from under that bushel--to mix a metaphor.
