UPDATE
December Meeting Worth the Trip
As usual the latest scoop from the personal computer users world will be discussed, followed by the Question & Answer session. The meeting will continue less formally with the partaking of seasonal goodies and networking among members.

Last month we reminded you to get out your recipe books and baking paraphernalia because the December meeting will also be our Christmas party where bringing and sharing year-end goodies is expected and encouraged. If you can't bring goodies at least bring your appetite. Oh....and try to bring a friend and introduce them to our user groupand its benefits!

Give-aways Also Worth the Trip
The December meeting will also feature a drawing of donated computer-related items. Don't forget to bring still usable items for the drawing. Every paid up member in attendance will receive a free raffle ticket. The best item so far is a beautiful leather laptop carrying case. Others include a 14-inch montor which the owner gave up for raffle when he got a flat panel display, a PS2 mouse with universal adapter, an unopened copy of Comabat Flight Simulator 2, ergonomic mouse pads, etcetera.

Membership Drive
In the coming months we will be embarking on an effort to increase our sagging membership. All our members will be asked to participate.
This will NOT be a "Let Charlie do it!" effort. We believe that this must involve more than just a few to be successful. More on this next month. By the way, this being the gift-giving season, why not give a year's membership in the our user group to a family member or a friend?.

Member Contributors
Two articles here and here are written by TOG members Bob Schaeffer and Carl Tenning. Neither is very long but contain useful information. Do you have something to share?

This Month's Contents
As you can see from the Table of Contents a spreadsheet article, here, and some online sites catering to senior and disabled users, here, are discussed . The latter are included because computer users "of a certain age" tend to make up a fair percentage of our group.

Then there are those articles that discuss the ins and outs of various hardware and software solutions presented. Here the Windows directory is explained. A timely discussion of the problem of Identity Theft appears here and how to protect yourself from it appears here. In the Hardware section you are advised on productive use of your CD drive, here, and how to unjam your printer here. Also the virtues of having two removable hard drives are described here.
