Microsoft Office 2003 Raffle
TOG President Ray Mills has generously donated a full licensable copy of Microsoft Office 2003 for the Tacoma Open Group to raffle off--with the funds so obtained to be added to the projector fund. This software retails for over $300 so is something worth having. Tickets are available at $1 each and will be sold over the next two or three months in order to bring in funds as close to the retail price as possible. With this amount we should finally be in a position to purchase a club-owned projector for use at our meetings.
The package contains on CD of Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 which features the familiar Word 2003, Excel 2003, Outlook(R) 2003, Access 2003 an PowerPoint 2003. It also includes Publisher 2003, support for XML and Information Rights Management as wellas InfoPathTM 2003 an efficient way to gather, update and make information available across an organization
A second CD contains Microsoft Office OneNoteTM 2003 - a new program that makes note taking simpler and more efficient. It enables people to easily capture, organize and reuse notes in any way they want. Typed or handwritten text, drawn diagrams, Web page content, and even

audio notes can be organized effectively and shared more efficiently--maximizing productivity.
Since the whole purpose of this raffle is to raise money to put our projector purchase over the top--as our politician friends say, vote early and often. At a buck a ticket surely you can afford more than one or two! Five say? Ten? Twenty? While one lucky winner will get a magnificent software package we all will benefit from a new projector for software demonstrations and program presentations. Get your tickets at the next meeting or contact an officer of the group.
Broad based Content
Again this month we have a full range of computer-related subject matter gleaned from members of our own and other user groups around the country and the world. As is our custom, we include subject matter suitable for beginners but also throw in an article or two for our more advanced members. Sometimes the black and white illustrations may not be as clear as the color ones included in our on line version of the newsletter, (e.g. see wiring on page 9) so we recommand that you visit our web site and read the articles of interest to you. Not only that, we generally make the website references active so checking out references ia a piece-of-cake on the website. Try it! You'll like it!
