Phishing Filter

George M. Holloway of SWIPCC posted an interesting article on his UG's blog.

If you have Internet Explorer 7 installed you may have noticed how slow it is on loading a page. I encountered this when I first installed IE7 and quickly decided the Phishing Filter was the cause. I turned the filter off by going to Tools/Phishing Filter and clicked on "Turn off Automatic Website Checking". Page loading returned to normal.

Microsoft has recognized the slowdowns that Phishing Filter is causing. The company released on Dec. 12 a fix for Windows XP SP2, Windows XP x64 Edition, and Windows Server 2003. You can download the patch for free by visiting Knowledge Base article 928089 http://windowssecrets.com/links/ixcgj69qbor4d/5d15d7h/.

I installed the fix and turned Phishing Filter on and pages are loading normally. I recommend you apply this fix.
