Can I Show Titles of Song Playing?
Question Answered by an Anonymous HAL-PC member
    Q. I want to make a custom Music CD that can play in my car. When I see the music listing, all I see is "Track1.CDA" and not song titles, etc. How do I get a list of the actual title of each music selection?

    A. Good question with a long answer but not a complicated one. In fact, it is too long to publish here, but let me give you the basics. All the burner programs I have seen have a "CD Text data" (or similar name) function. Each one operates in a little different manner, so first go to HELP/Index and read the procedure for your particular software. There are basically three ways to do this: I. Go to an Internet music database and copy the info for each selection; 2. Once you have "logged " on to the music CD, go to your Windows "cdplayer.ini" file and it should have a text list of each selection; or 3. Manually enter the info for each selection using the CD Text data function. I prefer #3, since all the info is on my CD cover. Be sure to "Save" the info you have just
entered. Then continue with the next step and bum your custom CD using the single session option. Note: You can actually use multiple CD music discs as your "source". Your burner program will typically ask you to insert the next source CD. Congratulations. You are now through playing "Name that Tune".

Tip: You can rearrange the tracks at any time, before burning, simply by dragging and dropping them into the desired order. Why not create your own song and put yourself as # 1 on the hit parade? It would be nice to have such an enduring hysterical record of your talent!

CAUTION: In order to create music discs with CD-Text, you'll need to turn on the "Disc-At-Once" mode. If you see the words "Track-at-Once," or other similar words, then change to the "Disc-at-Once" option.
