Spybot-Search and Destroy - This is the program you read about in the January 2003 Toggle Newsletter. It searches out and "destroys" spyware and adware hidden on your hard drive. When you run this program for the first time you may be shocked to find out how much spyware is on your hard drive (assuming of course that you surf the 'net). The program finds cookies, registry entries, key loggers, internet dialers, browser hijackers and even some Trojans. It is possible that once these items are removed, the related programs may no longer function. Not to worry as Spybot saves your changes and lets you do a complete restore. The program comes as one executable file and is over 2.8 MB large, so it is supplied on a CD, along with a doc (readme) file. The doc file contains a list of spybots and adbots with some explanation so you can understand what you are deleting and what you are keeping. You may install the program by just clicking on spybot.exe on the CD or by dragging the file to a temp directory on your hard drive and running it from there. The program is freeware and contains no ads of its own. On CD
