UPDATE
Do You Have Something For Our Year-End Drawing?
Through the largesse of computer industry companies and fellow computer users, we have accumulated such items as a very nice leather, laptop carrying bag, although it could be put to many other uses, a telephone modem card, a couple of CRT Monitors, a copy of Combat Flight Simulator 3 and various other items picked up at conferences or elsewhere. These will be raffled off on December 8th meeting.

Do you have something to donate? Please let us know what items you will have and arrange to have them at the December meeting.. We will try to have a list of items available for the drawing in the next newsletter. Please call or e-mail Bob Thomson to let him know if you have something to donate to the drawing. Iems not disposed of will be given to Goodwill.

Family Site Presentation
The dozen or so members who attended the October meeting were treated to a very interesting program by TOG member Owen Nasr. In addition to the digital one, we now have an analog phone line available in the meeting room allowing modem access to the Internet. Owen demonstrated a password-controlled family-oriented site which allows creation of personalized family trees, exchange of information such as recipes, photographs, reminiscences. a chat room, etc. If you weren't there you missed a good one.
Are You A Presenter?
More Member Programs Needed

As discussed above, any member can present an informative program. Taking a familiar subject and telling fellow members about it is to our mind what the user group is all about. In Owen Nasr's case he used the phone line in the meeting room to log on to the Internet and, with our overhead projector displaying it, he shared his family website with us. You can do the same with your favorite website or you can prepare a slide show using either Microosoft Power Point or Sun Microsystems Presntation Manager and present that.

What? You don't know how to do that? We have provided brief demos in the past on how to prepare a slide show. Perhaps its time for a repeat performance.

Using the projector you can also demonstrate use or features of your favorite programs or utilities. Let's get creative we need your ideas.

December Meeting
The December meeting will feature a drawing for donated computer-related items. Don't forget to bring items for the drawing. Every paid up member in attendance will receive a free raffle ticket.

To give you time to get out your recipe books and baking paraphernalia we are reminding you now that the December meeting will also be our Christmas party where bringing and sharing year-end goodies is expected and encouraged.
