MSN Email Problem

   I had a problem on my Windows 98 computer where clicking the "Mail & More" icon in MSN, instead of opening my email, brought up a window that said "Open With" and listed all my applications. I contacted MSN support and this was their solution:    
  • Click Start and then Run.
    •    
  • Type regsvr32 "c:\programfiles\msn\msncorefiles\mailui.dll"
    (including the quote marks), then    
  • click OK.
    		•


       I got a message Regsvr32 "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down." I just closed the window and restarted the computer. It still solved my problem.

       Another potential fix is to repair MSN Messenger. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Select MSN Messenger and click OK. It will bring up a button to select Repair.
